20,000 women achieve self-reliance in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, Apr 21 (BSS): About 20,000 under privileged women in six upazilas of the district have achieved economic self-reliance through various income generating programmes of Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB).
The concerned sources said the poor women brought revolutionary changes in their life within 16 years getting loans and training on various income generating activities from different projects of BRDB.
The main projects of BRDB are: Polly Progati Project, Rural Livelihood Project and Women Development Project.
Shirin Begum of Sadar upazila, Nurnahar Begum of Polash upazila, Lily Begum of Shibpur upazila Yesmin Begum of Monohardi upazila Hafija Khaton of Raipura upazila and Nasima Begum of Belabo upazila have set up examples by maintaining various income generating project on nursery, homestead gardening, tailoring, poultry and small dairy farm, sewing of nakshi kantha and small trading.
