3-day digital fair ends in Harinakundu

JHENIDAH, Apr 16: A 3-day digital innovation fair held here at Harinakundu upazila playground under the auspices of the local upazila administration ended on Wednesday amid much enthusiasm among the visitors and participants.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of celebration of Pahela Boishakh  a rally participated by local people, upazila level officers, public representatives, civil society members, students of schools and colleges, carts driven by bulls, buffaloes and horses,  was held here at 8 am Monday.

Jhenidah-2 constituency MP Tahjib Alam Siddiqi inaugurated the fair at around 11 am on Monday through cutting a red tape.

The inauguration was followed by a discussion meeting which was presided over by Harinakundu UNO Mohammad Ashraful Amin while Mr. Tajbib Alam Siddiqi was present as chief guest.

The MP in his speech stressed the need for the extensive use of digital technology and sought cooperation of people from all walks of live of Harinakundu for the overall development of the upazila.

The meeting was addressed, among others, by upazila Chairman-in-charge Md. Sajedul Islam Mollik, upazila vice-chairman Mst. Jesmin Akhter,  Falsi UP chairman Md. Fazlur Rahman  and Doulatpur UP chairman Md. Sabdar Rahman.

A total of 26 stalls were set up in the fair to display their technology-based services in front of the visitors.

Later, MP Tajbib Alam Siddiqi also inaugurated a Boishakhi fair at Kulbaria bazar in the upazila at around 12:30pm Monday.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jhenidah Md. Shafiqul Islam visited the stalls of the digital fair in Harinakundu on Wednesday afternoon and announced the end of the fair.
