3 food factories fined Tk 35,000 in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, July 9 (BSS): The regional office of the Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institutions (BSTI) has expedited drives against the manufacturing of substandard and adulterated food and fined Taka 35,000 in the city today.
According to the officials concerned, the BSTI in assistance with the district administration conducted a mobile court in BSCIC areas.
The court led by Executive Magistrate Shimul Akhter lodged separate cases against three owners of food factories on various charges like manufacturing, possessing and selling of substandard and unhygienic foodstuffs together with violation of the BSTIs rules and regulations.
The accused owners are: Mominul Haque of Yousuf Food Products Factory, Golam Nabi of Bony Bakery and Abdul Kader of Barendra Industries.
