3 JCD men held at RU

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, February 23: Law enforces detained three leaders of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), Rajshahi University (RU) following the procession Sunday at the campus.

The detained leaders are university Sohrawardi Hall convener Shamsuddin Chowdhury Sanin, Law department convener Abul Kalam Azad and Sher-e-Bangla Hall joint convener Md. Mithu. Sources said that some JCD activists Sunday at 10.30am brought out a procession on the campus demanding the unconditional release of unit general secretary Quamrul Hasan and supporting its centre-announced demonstration  programme across the country.

Their procession started from the 1st Science Building that terminated in front of the 3rd Science Building.

On information, Motihar Thana police rushed to the spot and detained three JCD leaders while they go out through Fine Arts gate. Abdur Rauf, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Motihar Police Station said some JCD men gathered in the campus for subversive activities. Police detained three of them.
