MYMENSINGH, Sept 6 (BSS): Three persons were killed and three others injured critically in a road accident in Shambhuganj bazar area on the Mymensingh-Netrakona road under Sadar upazila this morning.
The victims were Harun-or-Rashid, 22, son of Siddiqur Rahman of Shahbazpur village, Shakil, 16, son of Abul Kashem of Raghurampur village under Sadar upazila and Ishaq Ali, 35, son of Shabdul Khan of Mozahardi in Tarakanda upazila.
Police said the accident occurred when a Mymensingh-bound bus from Netrokona collided head-on with a battery-run auto-rickshaw in the area at about 11.30 am, leaving rickshaw driver Harun and Ishaq dead on the spot and four others injured, said Abul Kalam Azad, Sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station.
The injured were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) where Shakil succumbed to his injuries.
A case was filed with the concerned thana in this connection.
