3 killed in separate incidents in Khulna

KHULNA, Sept 21: Three persons including a female college student were killed in separate incidents in Khulna, Bagerhat and Satkhira on Saturday.
 The deceased were identified as Khadiza Akter Dola (20), daughter of Delower Hossain of Raligate area of the city. She was a student of Mohsin Girls' College under Daulatpur thana of the city, Mahmudul Hasan Roni (24), son of Molla Abdus Salam of BISCIC industrial area of Bagerhat and Mozibor Rahman (42), son of late Tamir Morol of village Abad Chandipur under Shambagor Upazila of Satkhira district.
Police quoted Khadiza's family as saying that she had quarrelled with her mother and committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital for autopsy.
In another incident, police recovered the body of Mahmudul Hasan Roni after his missing for two days from a canal at Majhirdanga area of Bagerhat on Saturday.
Police and local sources said that Roni went out of his house by motorcycle on Thursday evening and did not return. On Friday evening his father filed a GD with Bagerhat model thana. On information, police recovered his body from the canal and sent it to hospital morgue. The body was bearing multiple injury marks. Police suspected that he was killed by his friends for his motorcycle. Police is trying to arrest the killers.
A farmer was killed by lightning strike Saturday at village Abad Chandipur under Shamnagor thana of Satkhira district.
The duty officer of Shamnagor thana sub inspector Rezaul Hossain said Mozibor was working in a field at around 3:30pm when a thunderbolt hit him and he died on the spot.
