3 women rescued from Benapole

BENAPOLE, Oct 26 (UNB): Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive on Saturday night rescued three women while they were being trafficked to India illegally from Putkhali frontier in Sharsha upazila.

The BGB also detained two human traffickers in this connection.

The rescued victims are-Jabeda Begum, 28, wife of Jhantu Mia of Dumuria area in Khulna, Jamela Khatun, 29, wife of Samir Ali and Tripti Das, 30, wife of Ganpati Biswas of Monirampur upazila of Jessore.

On a tip-off, a team of BGB battalion-23 conducted a drive in the border and rescued the three women.

The BGB team also arrested two human traffickers - Tagar, 30 and Babu Sardar, 32, of the same area  during the drive.
