300 poor eye patients get free treatment in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Jan 29 (BSS): More than 300 poor and distressed eye patients received free treatments at a day-long free eye camp held on Monday at Amashu Kukrul Progoti High School ground of the city.

The Deep Eye Care Foundation (DECF) with assistance of Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) organised the eye camp in the city.

Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa inaugurated the eye camp followed by selection of cataract patients for free of cost surgeries under the 'Free Cataract Surgeries Project' of DECF.

City Councilor Bilkis Begum, social workers Azmal Hossain Lebu, Shahadat Hossain and Saiful Islam Ripan spoke on the occasion, among others. The meeting was moderated by Research Associate of DECF Feroz Alam Saifullah.

Feroz Alam Saifullah discussed activities of the financially self-supporting DECF that provides services to the rich and poor alike at its hospital located at Darshona area of the divisional city.

Mayor Mostafa hoped that the joint collaboration of DECF and RpCC would effectively provide quality treatments to all eye patients of Rangpur city.
