500 kg jatka seized in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ, Jan 29 (UNB):  Bangladesh Coast Guard and Fisheries Department in a drive seized 500 kilograms of jatka (hilsa fry less than 10 centimetres in length) from two launches in the Dhaleshwari River in Munshiganj Thursday morning.

Sadar upazila senior fishery officer Shahjada Khasru said a joint team of Coast Guard and the district fisheries department conducted a search in two Dhaka-bound launches named MV Karnaphuli-3 and MV Farhan-2 in the morning and seized 500 kilograms of jatka kept in a basket.
