TANGAIL, Mar 12: Coriander, one of the important spices has been cultivated on 522 hectares of land in Tagail district this year.
Most farmers of the twelve upazilas of the district are cultivating coriander. The leafy spice's cultivation procedure is very easy than the other corps. Sometimes the farmers do not use any separate land to cultivate the spice.
Farook Hossain of village Char Pakullah under sadar upazila, a coriander cultivator told the FE that they use ridges - a narrow path in their corps land. Not only that, they cultivate coriander jointly with the other corps at their land at the same time.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Tangail has fixed a target to cultivate coriander seeds on 522 hectares of land with a production target of 601 tonnes.
