7 killed in separate road accidents

TANGAIL, Oct 15 (UNB): A couple was killed when their private car plunged into a road side ditch near Jamuna Bridge Toll Plaza under East Zone Thana in Tangail early Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Tareque Bin Rashid, 55, security in-charge of Jamuna resort and his wife Farhana Munmun, 40, hailed from Srimangal upazila of Moulvibazar district.
Police said when Tareque along with his wife was going for a pleasure trip in a nearby resort area driving the private car, suddenly he lost control over the steering and the vehicle plunged into the ditch leaving the duo dead on the spot at around 12:30am
On information, police rushed in and recovered the bodies. A UD case was filed.
A report from Laxmipur says: Five people, including three woman and two children, were killed when a bus hit their CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Gachhirhat on Raipur-Faridganj road in Raipur upazila in Laxmipur on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Anjuman Ara, 30, Monowara, 32, Shahinur Begum, 35, Shamim, 6, and Shanta, 3, of Bamni village in Raipur upazila.
Police said the accident occurred at about 7 pm when a Sahi paribahan bus dashed their Bamni bound auto-rickshaw from Raipur health complex, leaving four CNG passengers dead on the spot and another passenger Shahinur critically injured. Later, Sahinur, mother of the two children, died on the way to Dhaka. Police on information rushed in and seized the both vehicles.
Police could not arrest anyone as the drivers and helpers of the both vehicles managed to escape. A case was filed.
