GAZIPUR, Jan 21 (UNB): A septuagenarian woman was stabbed to death by a gang of robbers at Baupara village in the city early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Kamaljan, 70, wife of late Moslem Uddin of the area.
Locals said a gang of 6-8 robbers stormed the house of late Moslem Uddin in the area in dead of night and tried to loot the house.
When Kamaljan and her brother's wife Rahima Khatun tried to resist the hoodlums they stabbed them indiscriminately with sharp weapons and hurriedly fled the scene, leaving Kamaljan dead on the spot and Rahima critically injured.
