8 killed in separate road accidents

MAGURA, Dec 23: A sexagenarian man and a minor boy were killed in separate road accidents at Moghi and Ramnagar areas in Magura sadar upazila on Sunday.
The boy identified as Shakib Hasan (10), son of Akram Hossain of Islambagh area in Magura town was killed and a motorcyclist was critically injured at around 11-00 am when a shallow-engine driven human hauler hit them at Moghi area on Magura-Jessore highway.
The other accident took place at around 11-45 am at Ramnagar area on Magura-Dhaka highway as a speeding pickup van hit a sexagenarian identified as Abdus Sattar (65), of Arpara village in Magura sadar upazila. When he was crossing the road.
Our Khulna Correspondent says: A fish trader was killed in a road accident at Charabat Tala area of Paickgacha municipality area of the district Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Shahajan Morol (50), son of Jabed Morol of village Raruli of the upazila. He was the owner of New Star Fish (fish depot) of the upazila sadar.
A Correspondent from Chuadanga says: A sub-inspector (SI) of police was killed in a head on collision between a motorcycle and a tractor at Asannagar turning point on Alamdanga-Kushtia road under Alamdanga upazila of the district Saturday night.
The ill-fated SI was identified as Ariful Islam (35), son of Sherajul Islam of village Pantapara under Moheshpur upazila of Jhenidah district. He was posted at Kustia model police station.
BSS reports from Gopalganj: Two people were killed in two road accidents in Sadar and Kotalipara upazila of the district yesterday.
The deceased were identified as SSC examinee Sohan Sheikh, 14, son of Sahadat Sheikh of Charkusali village under Tungipara upazila and Salam Gazi, 40, son of Baher Gazi of Tarashi village under Kotalipara upazila.
UNB reports from Moulvibazar: Two persons were killed as a motorcycle collided head-on with a truck at Bharaura in Srimangal upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased were identified as Bablu, 20, and Sohel, 18; both are residents of Kakiabazar area of the upazila.
Police said the motorbike carrying Bablu and Sohel collided head-on with a truck in the area at about 11.00 pm, leaving the two dead on the spot.
