Abducted child rescued in Barisal

BARISAL, Mar 30 (BSS): Hijla thana police today rescued a child from a house at Mandirchar Kusria village under Hijla upazila of the district.

The abducted child was identified as Nurun Nabi, 10, son of Abdus Sobhan of Mehendiganj upazila in the district.

Police also arrested abductor Sagar Gazi, 28, and his wife Hazera Begum, 25, from the same area.

Police quoting family members said the abductor kidnapped Nabi when he was coming his house from Dhaka by launch on Thursday. Abductor also demanded Taka 1,50,000 as ransom from the family.

Police arrested the kidnapper after tracking down his cell phone number and rescued Nabi after two days of his abduction.
