The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is scheduled to conduct a public hearing in Madaripur today (Wednesday) to hold public servants accountable to service recipients.

A public hearing is considered a social accountability tool aimed at curbing corruption within government offices.

The ACC will listen to direct complaints from citizens who have been denied services and have fallen victim to harassment in Madaripur. The ACC will promptly address the complaints raised by concerned members of the public.

The event carries the slogan "Let us destroy corruption, build our country, and our country will turn into a golden Bangladesh" ('Rukhbo Durnity, Garbo Desh, Hobe Sonar Bangladesh').

The public hearing is set to take place at 9:00 a.m. in the Madaripur Shilpakala Academy auditorium. Individuals who have been subjected to harassment, bribery and corruption in various government offices in the district will be participating.

Senior officials from different government agencies in the district, who are currently providing services, will be in attendance.

ACC Secretary Mahbub Hossain will be the chief guest at the event, with Madaripur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Marufur Rashid Khan presiding.

The main objective of this public hearing is to eliminate corruption in the country by ensuring accessible government services and fostering honesty, integrity, accountability and values among government officials.
