Acid hurled at mother, daughter in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, May 30 (UNB): A woman and her daughter received serious burn injuries as miscreants threw acid on them at Moulvipara village in Monohardi upazila early Saturday.

The victims were identified as Rokeya Begum (42), wife of Abdul Mannan, and their daughter Sabekun Nahar (25).

Witnesses said some unidentified miscreants stormed Mannan's house breaking open the window and threw acid on Rokeya and her daughter Sabekun while they were asleep at about 4:00am, leaving them critically injured.

Both of the injured were admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The reason behind the attack could not be known immediately.
