Acute teacher, staff shortages at Sunamganj technical college

SYLHET, Nov 10: Acute shortage of teachers and other staff have been hampering the regular activities of Sunamganj Technical School and College for long.
As many as 22 sanctioned posts including the principal have been lying vacant years causing students much harm.
Only 16 teachers are at work in the school and college sections, an official informed.
The vacant posts include principal, chief instructor, 10 instructors, for junior instructors, head assistant, lower division assistant, accountant, store keeper, librarian and office assistant.
Some teachers said the problem has a negative impact on the result. "Authority should solve the problem as soon as possible."
There had been no result even after repeated prayers were sent for fulfilling the vacant posts.
Acting principal of the government-run institution Azizul Haque Sikder said they are in a precarious state due to the staff shortage.
