AFM Kamal dies

SYLHET, July 14: Former chairman of the then Sylhet Municipality AFM Kamal died at a private Hospital in Sylhet city on Saturday.
He was 76. He left behind wife, two sons, two daughters and a host of friends, relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
Kamal was elected chairman of the municipality (now Sylhet City Corporation) in 1983 and in 1988.
AFM Kamal had been suffering from old age ailments. His Namaj-e-Janaja was held at the Shahi Eidgah maidan after Asr prayers and he was then laid to eternal rest at the city's Hajrat Manik Pir Graveyard.
Foreign minister AKMA Momen, former finance minister AMA Muhith, Sylhet City Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury and former mayor Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran in separate statements condoled the death of AFM Kamal.
