Agri fair begins in B\\\'baria

BRAHMANBARIA, Apr 12: A 3-day long agricultural fair (Zila Krishi Mela-'14) began at Friday at Poura Mukta Manch.

The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), The Fisheries Department (FD) and The Livestock Department (LD) jointly sponsored the Mela

Minister of Law, Justice and parliamentary affairs Md Anisul Hoque MP was present at the function as the chief guest while Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Brahmanbaria Dr. Mosharraf Hossain presided over the inaugural function and Deputy director of Brahmanbaria Agriculture Extension (DAE) Md Bashir Uddin presented the address of welcome to the participants on the occasion.

Chairman of parliamentary steering committee on Chittagong Hill Tracts RAM Obaidul Moktadir Chowdhury MP, Joint secretary (Agriculture Extension) of Agricultural Ministry Md Mosharraf Hossain, Zila Parishad administrator Sayed Emdadul Bari, Police super Moniruzzaman PPM (Bar), Pourasabha Mayor Md Helal Uddin  were also present as the special guests.  

The function was conducted by Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Md Monirul Hoque Mir.  

A total of 20 stalls were set up in the Krishi Mela.
