Agri info centres getting popular among Gopalganj farmers

GOPALGANJ Feb 15: Agriculture Information & Communication Centres (AICC) are gaining popularity among the farmers of remote areas in Gopalganj district. The programme was started on May, 2013 as an important unit of Digital Bangladesh. According to official sources, a total of 50 Agriculture Information & Communication Centres have already been established in 64 districts in the country under this programme and more centres are on way to be established this fiscal year, sources said.
A total of 5 Information & Communication Centres including integrated pest management (IPM) & integrated crop management (ICM) clubs have already been established in Gopalganj Sadar, Muksudpur, Kashiani, Kotalipara and Tungipara Upazila in the district.
Dr. Radhashyam Sarker, project director told the F.E 150 more Agriculture Information & Communication Centres will be started under this programme in different parts of the country.
