AL activist shot dead in Laxmipur

LAXMIPUR, July 26 (UNB): An activist of local Awami League unit was gunned down by unidentified miscreants at Nandigram in Sadar upazila early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Ahsan Ullah, son of Sultan Ahmed of the village.

Police said the miscreants fired several gunshots at Ahsan in the dead of night in the area on his way back home from Poddar Bazar, leaving him injured critically.

Locals took him to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injures. Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to  hospital morgue for an autopsy.
