AL intra-party clash: 40 houses looted in Magura

MAGURA, Mar 18: About 40 houses were ransacked and looted during intra -party clash of Awami League (AL) in Magura on Wednesday.

Magura police sub- inspector Milon Hossen said rivalry ensued between Titu and Hatem Ali of the village Amuria under Magura Sadar upazila over establishing supremacy in the village. Around 7am on Wednesday supporters of Hatem Ali ransacked and looted some houses of Titu in the village. Subsequently supporters of Titu ransacked the houses of the supporters of Hatem.

At least 40 houses of both parties were ransacked and looted during the clash. Of them, houses of Titu, Akhter, Shiddik, Halim, Mahabub, Oaliar, Anwar, Abu Taher, Johur, Moshiar, Shahdat, Mofij and Rustam were badly damaged and looted. On information police rushed to the spot and opened at least 15 rounds of blank fire to bring the situation under control.
