Aman cultivation begins in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, July 4: Cultivation of transplanted Aman has started in Nilphamari district.

The farmers are now busy preparing their Aman cultivable land with wooden plough, power tiller and tractors. The transplantation process will continue up to the end of the Bengali month of Bhadra.

Block supervisors (BS) of each Union Parishad (UP) of the district are providing necessary consultative support to the farmers. BADC-approved dealers have sold high quality seeds among the farmers. Rajshahi Krishi Unnyan Bank (RAKUB) and NGO's are distributing short term loan to the growers as expected.

DAE sources said this year's target of transplanted Aman cultivation in the district is in 109039 hectares of land and the production target is 294632 tonnes out of which Upshi variety to be cultivated in 107327 hectares to produce 291908 MT paddy and local variety in 1712 hectares and production target is 2724 MT paddy.
