Aman cultivation on in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, July 22: Cultivation of Aman paddy is going on in full swing in Nilphamari district.

Farmers are using power tillers and tractors for tillage to prepare the land. On a very limited scale traditional bull driven tillage is also to be found. Plucking of saplings from the seed beds and transplanting it in the farmland is also going on.

DAE sources said this year's target of transplanted Aman cultivation is in 106814 hectares of land to produce 291474 metric tonnes of paddy out of which hybrid is in 4483 hectares to produce 14795 metric tonnes.
