CHUADANGA, Nov 27 (BSS): Aman rice procurement drive for the 2014-2015 season began in the district on Wednesday.
The food department has fixed a target of procuring 2,581 tonnes of rice from four upazilas of the district during the current Aman season.
District food department sources said the Aman rice procurement drive will continue in the district till February 28, 2015.
The sources further said, of the total rice procurement, 1,093 tonnes would be procured from Chuadanga Sadar upazila, 405 tonnes from Alamdanga upazila, 153 tonnes from Damurhuda upazila and 930 tonnes from Jibannagar upazila.
