Apollo Hospitals opens ‘Tele Medicine Centre’ in Sylhet

SYLHET, July 30: Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, has started a 'Tele Medicine Centre and Information Centre' in the district town.

Principal of Parkview Medical College and Hospital, Sylhet, Prof Osul Ahmed Chowdhury he service at a function recently.

Vice-president of Apollo Tele Health Service Premanand S and Health Connect International Bangladesh (HCI) Chairman Shafique Azam attended the function as the special guests.

Chief of the newly-inaugurated centre Dr Mahmudul Majid Chowdhury said, "This center would help the people of Sylhet and its adjoining areas to arrange tele medicine service with the Apollo Hospital, Chennai through video conferencing.”

“If needed, we would assist patients for appointment with the specialists and other services of Apollo's Chennai establishment", he added.

He further said through this a good number of patients would be able to avoid the costly journey to Chennai.

Premanand S said, "Apollo Tele Clinics in Bangladesh had already provided consultancy service to over 10,000 patients. We would be able to cover more patients through the Sylhet centre, the fourth in Bangladesh."

Two are already in the Dhaka city and one in Chittagong, he added.
