Army corporal commits suicide in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Oct 22 (UNB): An army man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from pipeline of a water tank in Rajshahi cantonment on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Azizul Haque, 35, a resident of Bhalukapura village in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh. He was corporal of Rajshahi cantonment.

Afaz Uddin, sub-inspector of Boalia Police Station, said Azizul's colleagues found his hanging body with the pipeline of a water tank on the third floor of the barrack at about 10:30 am and informed police.

Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

An unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
