Army to set up science varsity in Syedpur

NILPHAMARI, Nov 9: Bangladesh Army is going to establish a science and technology university in Syedpur, based on Private University Act 2010. Named Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology, the university is to be set up at Syedpur cantonment area.

Sources said a project proposal (PP) has already been placed with the Ministry of Education in this direction, later on which is to be placed with the UGC soon for feasibility study and evaluation. Sources added for recruiting the requisite staff to run the University newspaper advertisement has already been published. The PP of BAUST indicated that the university is to be established to ensure quality education of the students seeking higher education.

People of the district are of the opinion that when established the venture would be a rare opportunity for the learners of the region.
