Army University of Science & Technology opens in Syedpur

NILPHAMARI, Feb 16: Bangladesh Army University of Science & Technology has been opened in Syedpur of Nilphamari district amidst a glittering ceremony yesterday (Sunday).

The university, first of its kind in the country was opened by Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor. Presided over by VC of the university Brigadier General Md. Abul Hossain, the ceremony was participated by Chairman of the Board of Trustee of the University GOC Major General Saleh Uddin Miajee, project coordinator Brigadier General Md. Khalilurzzaman, Soakot Chowdhury MP, Aftab Uddin Sarkar MP, DC Nilphamari Zakir Hossain and others.

Sources said in the first phase three departments are introduced in the university, such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electric & Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. About 300 students has already been admitted & arrangement has been made for their residential facilities in two halls in the University campus.
