ASSEDO distributes mango seedlings among poor women in C\\\'nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, July 22 (BSS): Speakers at a function here on Monday underlined the importance of women empowerment for economic development of the country. They added that the country could not achieve its development goal without participation of women in economic activities because they are the half of the total population of the country.

They made the comment while speaking at a function held at the Sarkerpara village under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila on the occasion of distribution of mango seedlings among the poor women. ASSEDO, (Agriculture Sustainable and Socio Economic Development Organization), an non- governmental organization organized the function.

They added that government and NG O should work together for the socio-economic development of the ultra poor people of the country for women empowerment through creating income generating resources.

The government has been working to uplift the standard of life of under privileged people of the char areas particularly.
