Authority seizes 28 birds from Satkhira house

KHULNA, Sept 05 (UNB): Members of Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation Division seized 28 caged birds of nine species from a house in Agaijhara village under Tala upazila of the district on Tuesday.

Being tipped off, members Khulna rehabilitation centre of the division conducted a drive at the house of Sheikh Jasim around 9:45am and seized the birds, said Md Raju, inspector of the division.

Jasim had been involved in doing business capturing birds with various traps, he said.

The accused fled during the drive, he added.

The seized birds were kept at the rehabilitation centre, Raju added.
