Autism Day observed in dists

MAGURA, Apr 2: The 7th World Autism Awareness Day was observed in Magura Wednesday.

District Administration and Magura Social Welfare Department jointly observed the day. They arranged a discussion meeting at Magura Sadar Upazila auditorium.

Magura Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalachand Mondal was the chief guest in the meeting while Sadar Upazila Chairman Abu Nashir Bablu and civil surgeon Shunil Chandra Roy were special guests with Magura Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdur Razzak in the chair.

Earlier a rally paraded through the main road of the town. A good number of autistics and NGO workers took part in the rally.

Our Correspondent from Khulna reports: World Autism Awareness Day was observed here on Wednesday in Bagerhat with a slogan "We all are to increase awareness of autism". On the observance of the day, a rally also brought out of the town jointly organised by the District Administration and Social Welfare Department.

A discussion meeting was held at the auditorium of Cultural Foundation with Deputy Director of Social Welfare Md. Ruhul Amin and addressed among others by ADM Mahmudur Rahman, Bagerhat Press Club President Babul Sarder and Moniruzzaman. Later 10 wheel chairs were distributed among the autistic persons.
