Auto-rickshaw driver's body found in Thakurgaon

THAKURGAON, Oct 17 (UNB): Police recovered the body of an auto-rickshaw driver with his throat slit from Chaupukuria area of Ruhiya in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila on Tuesday.

The dead, Rifat Islam (20), was son of Nur Alam of Goalpara area of Thakurgaon.

Locals found the body and informed Ruhiya thana.

Md Sohel Rana, officer-in-charge of Ruhiya thana, said on information police rushed to the spot and recovered his body.

Miscreants might have killed him for hijacking the auto-rickshaw on Monday night, he said.

Police are working to identify the miscreants and recover the auto-rickshaw, he said.

The body was sent to the 250-bed General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
