Baby killed in Gazipur fire

GAZIPUR, Jun 18 (UNB): A baby boy was killed and three people, including two members of a family, suffered injures in two fire incidents in the city early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Fahim alias Babu, a six-month-old baby boy of injured Jewel Mia, 35, his wife Munni, 25.

Locals said the fire originated from a mosquito coil at the rented house of Jewel in the area around 4:00am and it soon engulfed the entire house.

Three house inmates sustained injuries as they were asleep when the fire broke out.

In another incident, an old woman, Anwara Begum, 60, wife of Matin of Mariali area of the city sustained injures in a fire which broke out at a house around 12:30am.

Anwara was sent to the DMCH burnt unit with severe injuries.
