BADC plans to distribute Aman seeds in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, May 18 (BSS): Bangladesh Agriculture Development Board (BADC) has taken a massive plan to distribute high quality Aman seeds to the farmers through its sale centres and dealers during the current season.
Official sources said 127 tonnes of seeds of BR 11, BRRI Dhan 32, 33, 39, 41, 51, 52 and BINA 7 would be sold to the farmers at reasonable rates to help the farmers.
Of the total, some 28,950 tonnes of seed would be distributed to the farmers in Sadar upazila, 9,610 tonnes in Palashbari, 16,030 tonnes in Gobindaganj, 16,030 tonnes in Shaghata, 27,220 tonnes in Sundarganj, 19,210 tonnes in Sadullapur and 10,020 tonnes in Fulchhari upazila.
All the dealers have been asked to lift seeds from the sale centers of BADC within May 20 so that the farmers could buy those timely, said M. Mazhar Hossain, senior assistant director (Seed) of BADC.
Price of per kg seeds of BRRI Dhan 34, 37 and 38 has been fixed at Taka 52 while Nazirshail and Binashail at Taka 35 and different varieties of BRRI Dhan at Taka 32, he said.
