Bagerhat clash leaves one dead

BAGERHAT, Feb 15 (UNB): A youth was shot to death and five others were injured in a clash over a volleyball match in Mollahat Upazila on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as Rubel, son of Layek Kazi of Mollarkul village.

Officer-in-charge of Mollahat Police Station ANM Khayrul Anam said some local youths locked into an altercation over volleyball game in the afternoon.

Later, two local groups - one led by Layek Kazi and another by Hafiz Khaki - equipped with lethal weapons engaged in a clash around 8:00pm, triggering a gunfight that left Rubel dead on the spot and five others injured.
