Barber stabbed to death in Chattogram

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 07 (UNB): A 65-year-old barber was stabbed to death by some miscreants in Sarafbhata area of Rangunia upazila in Chattogram on early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Santosh Kumar Shil, son of Khadendra Shil of Chatur Bazar of Safarbhata union of Rangunia.

Local UP member Rafiqul Islam said that Santosh was returning home after closing his salon around 11 pm on Tuesday night.

He further said, but he did not receive phone call after 11:30pm.

Later, locals found his body lying near a waterbody around 1 am with a deep stab wound on his back and informed police.

Police recovered his body at around 1:30 am on Tuesday night.

South Rangunia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mirza Md Zakir Hossain they are investigating the incident.

The body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
