Barisal divisional museum inaugurated

BARISAL, June 8 (BSS): Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor Monday inaugurated the divisional museum at Barisal Old Collectorate Bhaban here.
"The door of the Barisal Divisional Museum has been opened to conserve the culture and heritage of the country. Through this, history and heritage of the past of this region will be protected," he said while inaugurating the museum. Noor said the museum will be further enriched in phases.
He said the government is working earnestly to collect the archeological evidences and uphold the history of them to the people.
Bangladesh is moving fast to become a self-sufficient country under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the minister added.
Noor said "The country is becoming digital. It is matter of time now to turn into a middle income country. No government could make these types of successes in the past."
Chaired by Archeology Department director general Shirin Akhtar, the inaugural function was attended by lawmaker of Barisal-5 constituency Jebunnesa Afroza, divisional commissioner Md Gaus, Barisal Metropolitan Police Commissioner Shaibal Kanti Roy and deputy commissioner Md Shahidul Alam.
