PIROJPUR, Feb 19 (UNB): A young domestic help, who was beaten allegedly by his master over the theft of a mobile phone set in Bhandaria upazila on Tuesday, died at hospital on Thursday.
Tuhin Hawlader, 22, son of Jahangir Hawlader of Uttar Nilti village in the upazila, died at Bhandaria Upazila Health Complex in the morning.
Tuhin used to work at the house of Jakir Hossain Selim at Shubetpur village of the upazila as a domestic help.
Police said Jakir beat Tuhin over stealing his mobile phone set on Tuesday, leaving him critically injured.
He was admitted to the health complex where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning.
Jahangir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Bhandaria Police Station, said the body bore several injury marks.
Meanwhile, police arrested Jakir after victim's father filed a case in this connection.
