BKB disburses Tk 642.5m agri-loan in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, July 20 (BSS): Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) Narsingdi region has disbursed Taka 642.5 million as agricultural loan among 7,104 farmers in the six upazilas of the district during the last fiscal year (2013-2014).
Official sources said BKB earmarked Taka 893.5 million for distribution as agricultural loan in the district for the last fiscal year. The percentage of loan distribution by the bank in the region stands at 72 percent on June 30.
Meanwhile, the BKB realised Taka 668.49 million outstanding loan against the target of Taka 1.095 billion during the same period.
Deputy general manager of BKB Shahidul Islam said the net profit of BKB Narsingdi region for the(2013-2014) financial year is Taka 12.1 million.
He said BKB disbursed the loan for cultivation of Aman, Boro, wheat, banana, papya, vegetables, maize, pulse, setting poultry and dairy farms, pisciculture, purchasing agriculture and irrigation equipment, small trading, marketing of agriculture products and socio-economic development activities.
