Bodies of two women recovered in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, May 28 (BSS): Bodies of two young girls were recovered yesterday from Nagarkanda and Alfadanga upazilas of this district.

It is learnt from Nagarkanda police that the body of one Sagari Begum (19), daughter Mahiuddin of Kaichal village under the upazila was found dead lying under a tree. The neck of the deceased was tightened with a scarf. Police said that it is suspected that she was suffocated to death.

Her body bore marks of several injury and her relatives said that she was killed after gang rape. However police said that nothing could be said about the cause of her death before post mortem. Police sent the body to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

A case was filed with Nagarkanda police in this connection.

In another incident the body of one Sonia Begum (20), was recovered from Gopalpur village under Alfadanga upazila.

According to Alfadanga police Sonia allegedly committed suicide inside her bed room by tightening scarf in the neck. The incident occurred in the deceased's father in law's house.

A UD case was filed with Alfadnga police in this connection.
