Bogura District Bidi Workers Union has formed a human chain to press for a five-point demand including cut in tariffs on bidis in the upcoming budget, says a press release.
The human chain programme was held in front of the District's Customs, Excise, and VAT office in Bogura town at 11:00 am on Thursday.
The leaders of the organisation submitted a memorandum to the Chairman of National Board of Revenue (NBR) through the Assistant Commissioner of Bogura Customs, Excise, and VAT office with a call to meet their demands. President of Bangladesh Bidi Sramik Federation Amin Uddin and Vice presidents Nazim Uddin and Lutfor Rahman, among others, joined the programme
