Boro seedbeds being prepared in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Dec 14: As the Aman harvesting has been completed, preparations for Boro seedbeds is going on in full swing across Nilphamari district.

DAE sources said 3659 hectares of land has been targeted as seedbeds for Boro cultivation this year. In the meantime sprouting of seed has already been taken place in some areas and some farmers are now spreading seeds over the prepared seedbeds.

Sources said if the weather remains favourable record amount of seed are expected in the district. This year price of BADC Foundation quality seed containing 10 kg per bag is being sold at Tk 415.

While contacted one official of DAE said production of Boro is very satisfactory every year in the district and the same production may be attained this year also.
