BSF returns 26 Bangladeshis thru Benapole

JESSORE, Mar 19: The Border Security Force (BSF) of India handed over a total of 26 Bangladeshis to BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) through Benapole land port Wednesday.

 Among the returnees 12 are women and 2 children, port sources said. Of the returnees, five autistic women crossed Bangladesh border and reached India about 20 years back. They were given treatments in India with the help of Missionaries of Charity, Sister Elien, official, Missionaries of Charity, Khulna said. The others went to India several years ago in search of better jobs, treatment and business, said port sources.

ASI Alam of Benapole port police station confirmed the information to the journalists and said that the returnees were handed over to BGB by the Indian Border Security Force separately on Wednesday evening.
