Bumper arum yield expected in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA, Jun 10: Farmers in four upazilas of Chuadanga district are expecting a bumper production of arum this year due to favourable weather condition, suitable soil and necessary technical supports from the local agriculture department.
Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) office sources said a total of 260 hectares of land have been brought under arum cultivation this year with a production target of 78000 mounds of arum. Of them 75 hectares of land have been brought under the arum cultivation in Chuadanga Sadar Upazila, 100 hectares in Alamdanga Upazila, 55 hectares in Damurhuda Upazila and 30 hectares in Jibannagar Upazila.
