NILPHAMARI, May 16 (BSS): Officials at a function on called Monday for inspiring young students in science and technology based education to prepare them for making the fourth industrial revolution a success.
They made the call at the inaugural function of the National Science and Technology Week-2022 and a two-day Science Fair at local Government High School ground here.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Nilphamari Khondker Yasir Arefin inaugurated both the events by releasing balloons as the chief guest.
He also visited 18 stalls set up by different educational institutions from all six upazilas in the district on the fair premises projecting diverse scientific projects, research activities and innovations and ICT based technologies.
Presided over by Additional District Magistrate (ADM) and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Education and ICT Murad Hasan Beg, Nilphamari Municipal Mayor Dewan Kamal Ahmed, District Education Officer Shafiqul Islam and Headmaster of Nilphamari Government High School Golam Rabbani addressed the function as special guests.
The speakers said that young generations are showing their keen interests in science and information and communication technology (ICT) based modern education and scientific innovations across the country.
They stressed on popularizing science and ICT based education further among young students to utilize their skills in attaining the sustainable development goals by 2030 and build a developed Bangladesh by 2041.
The DC as chief guest said the government has taken huge pragmatic steps to popularize science and technology based education to further accelerate the pace of national development.
"The government has already achieved a lot of developments and success in digitization and utilizing information technology on the way to build a developed Bangladesh by 2041," he said.
He suggested the authorities of all educational institutions to inspire the young generations in science-and ICT based education to prepare them for the fourth industrial revolution to attain sustainable national development.
