Call to boost capacities of CBO leaders for settling conflicts

RANGPUR, Jan 12 (BSS): Speakers at a training course have stressed for enhancing capacities of the community based organisations (CBOs) in settling intra-organisational and local conflicts for social advancement and sustainable peace.
They were addressing inaugural ceremony of the three-day training course on 'Settling Conflict Management' organised by Fulbari Area Development Programme (ADP) of World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) at Madilahat Sub-centre in Fulbari upazila of Dinajpur on Sunday.
Twenty-five women leaders of two local CBOs, including Betdighee Mohona Mohila Forum and Zomadani Adibashi Swapner Alo Nari Samity, of Betdighee union under Fulabri upazila in Dinajpur have been participating in the training course.
With Programme Officer of Fulbari ADP of WVB Badal Sangma in the chair, Executive Director of Bangladesh Advance Students for Inter relation Council (BASIC) Shyamol Chandra Sarker addressed the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest.
Fulbari Upazila Cooperative Officer Mohammad Abdur Rouf, President of Betdighee Mohona Mohila Forum Ferdousi Begum and female member of Betdighee union from reserved Ward No-7 Rena Parveen addressed as the special guests.
Executive Director of BASIC Shyamol Chandra Sarker and Programme Officer of Fulbari ADP Badal Sangma have been conducting training course being arranged for enhancing capacities of the female CBO leaders in settling local conflicts.
The speakers said it is quite natural and common that there should be differences in opinions and also conflicts in every organisation or society while conducting any good work or taking better initiative for social advancement.
But, the success depends on how leaders of local CBOs settle those intra-organisational and social differences, issues and conflicts for achieving the desired goal of establishing sustainable peace and unity for advancing the society forward, they said.
