RANGPUR, May 9 (BSS): Speakers at a child dialogue have stressed for creating adequate social awareness among the rural people about the causes of various preventable diseases and consequences of malnutrition to prevent child deaths.
Fulbari Area Development Programme (ADP) of World Vision Bangladesh (WVB) organised dialogue on child health related issues as part of week- long campaign 'Child Health Now' at its Madila Sub-centre in Fulabri upazila of Dinajpur on Friday afternoon.
The main objectives of the campaign are to create awareness among four lakh people of four unions in Fulabri upazila about the causes behind pneumonia, diarrhoea, complexities during delivery and malnutrition with ways and knowledge for preventing child deaths.
Programme Manager of Fulabri ADP of WVB Badal Sangma inaugurated the child dialogue as the chief guest with President of Betdighee Tarun Shishu Forum Mohammad Shahin Alam in the chair.
President of Betdighee Mohona Mohila Unnayan Forum Zannatun Ferdous, Organising Secretary of Madila Nabin Sangha Bulbul Ahmed and President of Hargobindapur Jubo Sangha Rawshan Zamil addressed the dialogue as the special guests.
Child journalist Soma Das, President of Hargobindapur Village Child Forum Hasna Hena and President of Betdighee Tarun Shishu Forum Mohammad Shahin Alam took part as discussants in the dialogue moderated by leader Baby Sultana Bithi.
Sixty children from different villages of Betdighee union along with child executives and members of different Child Forums under Fulabri ADP, health officials, civil society members and public representatives participated in the child dialogue.
