Call to launch movement against fundamentalism

RANGPUR, Aug 17 (BSS): Speakers at a press conference today stressed for launching vigorous social movement against social erosions, fundamentalism, unhealthy culture, drug abuse, gambling, rape and violence against women and human trafficking.
Terming the fundamentalist forces and women repressors as enemies of the society and humanity, they called for rooting out anti-liberation forces through banning their religion-based politics and ensuring exemplary punishments to the women repressors.
Rangpur and Rajshahi divisional units of Bangladesh Narimukti Kendra (BNK) organised the press conference at the district office of the Convention Preparation Committee of Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal in the city
The press conference was arranged to make the scheduled Women Rally Programme to be held at Town Hall auditorium here with participation of women from Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions on August 24 next in observance of the International Women Repression Prevention Day- 2014.
Member of the central committee of the BNK and its Gaibandha district unit President Professor Rokeya Khatun read out her written statement in the press conference narrating the goals and objectives of the women rally programme.
Organising Secretary of the central committee of NMK Monideepa Bhattacharya, its central committee members Masuma Akhter, Rangpur district unit President Lecturer Arsheda Khanom Lizu, members Yasmin Akhter, Nazmul Nahar, Alo Begum, addressed. Organiser for Thakurgaon district of the organisation Krishna Debanth, its Panchagarh District Organiser Farzina begum and Bogra District Organiser Noor Jahan Rekha also spoke on the occasion.
