RANGPUR, Oct 19 (BSS): Speakers at a meeting here have stressed for launching social movement against social erosion, 'fatwa', unhealthy culture, drug abuse, gambling, repression, rape and violence against women and human trafficking.
They demanded for bringing an end to ill culture and pornography, violence against women, rape, gang rape and murder after rape, acid attack, sexual harassment and fundamentalism. They said the womenfolk are facing risks at all places in the society.
Rangpur district unit of Bangladesh Narimukti Kendra (BNK) organised the views-sharing meeting at Mahiganj Press Club auditorium in the city on Saturday afternoon with its President Arsheda Khanom Lizu in the chair.
Language movement veteran Mir Anisul Haque Payara, Professor Maloy Kishore Bhattacharya, Principal Fakhrul Anam Benzu, district Coordinator of the Convention Preparation Committee of Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal Comrade Anwar Hossain addressed.
